Where are you getting your bumper cover from? I couldn't find any under $1k when I was looking.

Or is that the rear?

Way to go:)

At least you're all tuned up now I hope!

Mike, I'm moving to the Albany/Troy area in September. Try and catch up with others for a Hudson Valley meet/drive this Fall/Spring.

If you can stand it, wait around a while for a part out and maybe get lucky on the right color. Still, if you can get it for $850, not bad considering.

Why not use a high grade commercial grade epoxy product that will work for bonding materials like the the plastic/rubber bumper skin and then sand and paint it. All the parts are there right?

I found a supplier who has reconditioned bumper covers.

It's 550 without paint, 180 to paint it. So ended up at 850.

I am going to have the old one repaired, primed and then I will sell it.

Tune? I am considering a trip to Troy/Albany to the APR tuner there. :) A8L or RS6, I have not decided which to tune.

Who does APR there? I found a small Euro shop that looks quality, but will have to see if they can deal with the beast. I'd be tuning the RS6, just be careful of the trans. A8L is under warranty I would guess? Actually, tune both!!!

I like the idea of repairing the cover. Make sure the paint is good. From a quality shop, and still a good deal, mine was $450 for the paint.

EPL (https://www.google.com/maps/place/726+Woodend+Rd,+Stratford,+CT+06615/@41.170837,-73.137038,17z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x89e80da7c787802f:0x9ee4f6fee670e 915?hl=en) at 726 Woodend Rd, Stratford, CT 06615 might be closer for their tune.

If I still had my RS6, APR was my first choice for the slushbox. If I still had my RS6, AMD here in Woodinville, WA would be my choice for the 6 speed.

APR for sure on the A8. But it will void drivetrain warranty.

APR is too much money for the RS6. I would take the RS6 to EPL as Ben has mentioned for the flash.

Sell me your old bumper cover.

Excellent, thank you sir!

Get the Eurocharged tune, $500 and very good. You can also get the controller for a few hundred and make adjustments on your own.

Only on RS6.com can that math add up... 550+180=850 :vhmmm: :deal:

J/k I know you mean +120 shipping, just jerking your chain.

I thought the $120 was just the RS6 tax... :audibash: <---- Edit, I wish the smiley face bashing the Audi logo with a hammer worked here like it does on the Euro forum, very useful

Waited 11 days, called three times, finally go through to someone who could answer my question.

AudiPorscheparts.com Don't bother. They have a listing on their website for the part, but never got back to me...they have an Rs5 pumper cover LOL.

Not a skilled shop at communication!

So, I'll order one from Audi $1200 or so. Nice...

Mike, I had a big crack/chunk in my front bumper cover after truck with a tow hitch backed into me. Took it off, gave it to a small paint shop that friends know, $450 later and it was brand new again, paint matched perfect also. I'd just fix the sucker...

I was going to do that but was hoping to get the swap done quickly, then have the old one repaired and sell that one...break even. LOL...

Welcome to the it's on the site so they must have it club. Rule 1a, nobody has anything in stock for RS6, corollary to rule 1, to fix anything, drop motor.

Finally got around to getting a quote on the bumper from a local shop.

A few months ago I had asked for a price at the Audi Dealership in Cicero, NY, when I was picking up my wife's Q7 and they told me $1200. I asked how long it would take to get one and the guy said it should not be a problem.

So I got a quote for about $1600 to replace the bumper cover including paint and labor, Eastern Custom Cars The guy runs a custom shop and from what I have seen he does great work. So they called to order the parts on Wednesday and called me Thursday morning to tell me they were picking up the parts and were ready to start the job! I am dropping the car off tomorrow morning.

As it turns out, Audi in Cicero had one in stock! LOL. So hopefully it will be finished this week.

That is on the heals of a $2400 repair for the hydraulic pump on the convertible.

Oh well.

Done, Paint match pretty good, but the older stuff has the nice patina only found on century old wood and such...LOL
