Car had no engine lights before the jet suction pump under the intake manifold broke. Pulled the front end, intake manifold all that. Put it all back together and went for a test drive and a CEL came on.

P0343 Camshaft position sensor a bank 1 high input

Checked connector looks good. Checked power at the connector has 12v switched on and 18 M ohms resistance, which I got the same values on the other bank.

Car drives absolutely fine. Boosts good, very strong as a tuned RS6 should be. Which unlike what a quick google search for other Audis with this code and saw others saying that cars were throwing this code and would not start or had poor time starting.

Assuming the sensor is bad, just kind of sucks that it randomly happened when I put the car back together out of nowhere. Strange coincidence? Just looking for insight on this as the sensor comes with the timing chain guide and its a pain in the ass to change out. Thank you.

Be sure it's plugged in the whole way. Sometimes the plugs are misleading in how for you have to push them in.

I'll have a second look at it tomorrow to be sure and be sure the pins are not bent. Still selling those conversion kits by the way?

And I see you fancy yourself a old CB750F. Nice man, fully love my CB900F, with CBR600F2 front and rear swap with tons of extra goodies. In the process of fitting 6 pistons Tokico GSXR1000 calipers with ST1100 rotors on her now. Pulling the engine eventually for a big bore kit and some CR carbs.

I'm literally a moron and was confusing the camshaft tensioner for the camshaft sensor. Connector was sitting right next to the sensor unplugged. Problem solved haha.
