Indeed, this car isn't that new, it is with us for some time. I bought a car magazine called "Evo" (May 2003) a few months ago. This car appeared in it as well. They did a 200 mhp+ speed test with a number of car on the German autobahn.
1)Zonda C12 S 555 BHP
2)Ruf R Turbo 542 BHP
3)TVR Tuscan S 390 BHP
3)MTM Bimoto :incar: :king: :king: 740 BHP
4) Lotus Esthi Elise 2.4 (this refers to 2.4kg per bhp) 414 BHP
The editors(who have a dream job :D ) succeeded to drive 200 mph or even more with the Ruf Porsche, the Zonda and the Bimoto.
The editor who drove the Esthi was very impressed, the car was very good. No need to say that is was bloody fast, , the overall impression was very good. They didn't manage to reach the 200 mph because of the amount of traffic on the autobahn at that time. The top speed was 182 mph:D And that in such a small car.
But the car is sure capable of doing that. The firm which produces this Elise is a German one.
btw: Those English magazines are fantastic, the photography is the best and very artistic in most cases. But the photos are a bit small though.
