Hello all. I have a question. My car has had a slight odor (from engine, not me) for a year or more and now it's worse. Bad enough that I have to leave the window open or die from carbon monoxide.

I have in the past replace the vacuum tubing for the emissions system (was a CEL light) so I suspect something similar. I was hoping someone may say "aha, I know what that is from".

Thanks.

Mike

Flex pipes are my first choose. Going to look under car tomorrow. Did the snows today and brakes are AOK.

Possible leaky fuel tank? or leak in vapor recovery system?

A leak in either should cause a cel though. Wasn't there a Audi service bulletin concerning the fuel tanks?

Just took a look. Smoking from the front end of the driver's side exhaust manifold.

Flex pipe looks fine.

Smell is definitely exhaust not gasoline.

Oh well looks like an engine pull.
