My spring is sprung and it won't stay shut...
how the heck do you get to the works for that thing? Please don't tell me I must take the whole door panel off. http://z5.ifrm.com/30177/83/0/e5142643//e5142643.gif

My passenger side unit acted up initially. If you somewhat smack it shut, it always latches. A little bit of silicone spray worked well for me. Now it works perfectly.

Spray where exactly? I guess my spring isn't sprung because it keeps popping open when I push it shut. There must be some toggle latch or something that has stopped catching.

Panel comes off easily. Audi engineers origianlly planned this out well so that they could change out the O2 and EGT sensors....

Pulling the panel is easy. I swapped out all four door pulls this weekend in about 20 minutes.

Actually I fixed my pocket that wouldn't stay shut on my last RS6. Its a cam mechanism similar in theory to a ball point pen.

The cam track was worn and I rebuilt it with JB weld. Worked like a charm.

Now that's some good info. Thanks!

Spray front edge, lock track area. Do not overdo it. Just enough to hit the lock cam thing, then work it open and shut a few times, then spray again and repeat. If you're using more than 5-10ml of spray, you are overdoing it.

or look for some used panels from a regular A6 with good working flaps and then you can simply swap the flaps, a friend bought 2 for like a few bucks, they were in a bad shape but the flaps were as new...it is more work involved but will give you peace of mind on a long run...

I do preventative maintenance on my door pockets by never, ever, ever opening them ;)
