Details on the build:

The allroad has 120K miles. Stock TIPtronic slushy box. Tip was slipping in reverse for nearly 3 years before I parked it. While it was still my daily driver I snagged a 60K engine in excellent shape from Bryan at audis4parts.com. My original engine is an APB block/heads. the new 2.7 engine is a BEL block/heads... all stock internals but known for a bit stronger cast, larger windows, etc. Took my time building up the motors bits before parking the car and starting the real work. Car has been off the road for 12 months taking up the entire garage. I've got it turned sideways in garage to deal with motor in and out, etc. I used a hydraulic table for the motor swap... i.e., drop subframe and full motor/trans out bottom. in and out. works like a champ. My wife is ready for the garage to be free again!

My goal in the build was to give the car a second life for another 6-8 years as a perfect daily driver with all around usability: Fun to drive, utility with wagon storage, ability to tow 5K lbs if needed, adjustable load and height suspension, offroad ability for the occasional mountain road trip, nice interior for work or family passengers... and, ability to spank wanna-be's in a sleeper wagon :) This is not a monster engine build but an all around car upgrade. My goal in the engine is 500HP at crank I should confidently achieve that. The other goal with the engine was not big HP or TQ but rather very quick spooling rivaling or beating K03 spooling. The complete redo of intake and exhaust should achieve part of that goal although the dual mass flywheel is probably a bottleneck. I didn't want to go lightweight FW... not yet anyway. Once I get the allroad sorted fully I'll start on the RS6 with 6MT swap and motor build. Still undecided yet if I will do S6 body and follow Steve's path. That project is probably 12 months out. I love wagons.
