BBS website actually states:

GT - The new three-piece BBS-wheel

The three-piece GT-wheel is a jewel with the classic look of the Porsche Supercup-series. The modular construction is very similar to the resistant racing wheel. Like all multi-piece BBS-wheels, the GT-wheel is repairable, as well. The GT-wheel is manufactured out of special alloys in a unique flow forming process particularely engineered for racing. Under intense pressure, the material structure is compressed to make the wheel lighter and more durable. Already in the development process the BBS racing engineers aimed for the lowest production tolerances according to Formula 1 requirements. This results in minimum unbalanced mass and maximum concentricity.

The ball polishing process is used to compress and harden the wheel surface and gives a shiny appearance. The GT-wheel is joined together with 30 light and high-stressed titanium bolts to meet the requirements of all ambitious drivers. For the first time an antigliss-varnish, developed by BBS specially for Formula 1, is used for an aftermarket wheel. This prevents a rotation of the tyre on the rim. The GT-wheel is available in the sizes 8,5 x 18“ up to 10 x 19“. Price: 750,-- € up to 890,-- €.

nice, .... very nice

gjg, there's a difference between the RS GT and the GT.

The GT has more like a Porsche Cup look.

I stand corrected - the 3 piece is GT, not RS. You're right.

Could not find any price reference for RS GT on BBS website - they have the picture but that's it.

ok, that's not that bad considering the quality. I have RK-II's for 5 years and about 240k km and no problem - and the roads here sometimes resemble tank testing ground .....

We had other wheels (different manufacturers) on various cars and none lasted as BBS.

Looks like you get what you pay for......

Tirerack would not guarantee the fit but they offered, in case if the wheels will not fit with/without spacers or rolling the fender lip they will take them back.

BBS on their web site shows 19x8.5 or 20x8.5 or 20x9.5.

Available in silver or diamond black - diamond black would look nice on Daytona Grey ....

gjg -

The RS-GT for the RS6 is not available in Diamond Black. I called BBS directly for this information. It's only available in Silver. The Diamond Black wheel is the Japanese manufactured version.

Fitment is another issue. I just ordered the BBS CH in the 19 x 8.5 size specified for the RS6 on the BBS website. The tires were the new Michelin Pilot Sport 2. Unfortunately, the front tires rubbed on the steering linkage. To help combat the problem, Oscar at the Tirerack sent out a set of 3mm spacers which solved the rubbing issue but made the wheels vibrate at 60MPH and above. So, I sent the whole set back for credit. The new consensus is that the PS2 is wider in this particular size (255/35/19) when compared to offerings from other manufacturers. This is due to the beefed up 10.25" cross section width and that fact that the PS2 is a heavily reinforced performance tire. My local tire store is ordering a new set of CH’s with P Zero's which have a 10" cross section. Hopefully that will work. Obviously, BBS never had a chance to fit the PS2 on the beast because it's such a new tire. I don’t even think the PS2 has been formally released to the market yet.

thanks for the info - silver would do for me ....... I'm looking to get the 18" (due to really s....y roads here). there is 6 mm offset difference so it may work.

is the bolt pattern on beast diffrent from 5-112?

Very nice looking. I'll stick with my SSR Competitions (18x8.5=16.5lbs!) although they're not as flashy:cheers:

Ben,

nice wheel - do you have Anthracite or Silver?

I like this one too, but I am afraid that the wheel would not last too long on potholes in this part of the world ...

I have the Anthracite. It looks very similar to the Euro Blue Black. This is Speed Star's web site http://www.speedstar.co.jp/collection/ssr_type_c/index.html

A lot of quality wheels. Since I will use mine more for track I went with weight vs. flash.

Those wheels are really hot on the RS6, and most other cars. Mesh has always been one of my favorite, except extremely hard to keep clean.

My only other issue here is that there is very little clearance in the front. Look at the pix below, and you can see how close the caliper is to the spoke.
