View Full Version : Tuner Comparison

Has anyone thought of setting up a comparison table of the different tuning options (Abt, MTM, Oct, APR) with the various stages and their component changes/features (eg ECU, exhaust, speed limiter, tiptronic mods etc.), costs of each upgrade and performance data (o-100, 0-200, 1/4 mile, hp/torque, hp at the wheels)? If someone provides the raw data, I could set up the format and organize the data in Excel. Perhaps we could ask each of the tuners to provide reliable data before and after tuning. Someone else could format it for the website or tell me how to do it ...

I once started making a list of all the performance figures from different tests of stock RS6s. But I never got about publishing it.

I like the idea, but it will be difficult because many (most) tuners never publish any performance figures. You can be happy if the power output is close to what they claim.

Please note that in Germany it is quite common that smaller companies use the same chip but under their own brand name.
Perhaps it works the same in the US?

In any case, here's my contribution. For more details clikc on the links:

MTM (http://www.mtm-online.de/html_en/menue.php4?Marke=AU&Modell=RS6&FZID=RS6331Q&KitID=M) 500 - 568 hp kits.

Hohenester (german only) (http://www.hohenester-sport.de) They offer 500 hp / 660 Nm, probably more in reality.
Does 100 - 200 km/h in about 11-12 secs as tested by myself.

Eric,

4.2 seconds seems so much better than anything else I've seen. For example, most reports for chips producing 500 hp don't seem to change the 0-100 performance by much.

That DigiTec Avant is pretty hot - love the rims and tires - except for IMO the big "Digitec" across the side. What were they thinking?

Notice how on acceleration some of the WImmer times are worse or the same as the stock car.
