Possibly one of the worst home pages I've ever seen.

How do you MTM-tune your car if you don't live in Florida?

Anyway, here are the MTM options.

I'm in Florida & during a recent visit to Hoppen an employee said something about their distributors or dealers; can't recall which. Just tried to call, since I'm considering their Stage I anyway & you raise a good point about what the heck I do if there's a problem and I'm in Michigan or out west, etc. But I got voice mail, twice, and I'll be away from this forum for a while so maybe you should call them if you're interested: (941) 924-6380.

Hoppen is not a big operation, and I agree the web site -- at least the page I saw -- was not very informative, but I didn't have time to navigate. I'm exploring MTM chiefly because it's a reliable brand & help (Hoppen) is nearby; also, the fact that Hoppen has a good working relationship with the local Audi dealer, and the service writer there says that of 5 or 6 chip-related turbo failures he's seen over the years, none were MTM.

I posted a thread on an S4 forum that might be of interest. MTM took a lot of hits but came out OK IMO since the only big complaint I recall that's based on FIRST HAND experience was a guy who bought his chip used, swapped ECUs when turbos blew (so that Audi wouldn't know he was chipped), got new turbos under warranty, they failed again, he swapped again, etc. In other words, yes, he experienced failure while using an MTM chip, but we can't even be sure it was the right chip -- and he sought no expertise on whether the chip might have been the problem. He also admitted to being an aggressive driver in his email to me.

Not sure what the problem is?

If you'd check you'd find out that, if you do not live in Florida, you can either overnite your ECU for programing (48 hr turnaround) or alternatively go to one of the Hoppen's partners in the area.

This is pretty much the same scenario if you do not live in Germany near by MTM's office.

I have not noticed that any other tuners have local offices in multiple US states or for that matter in many European countries.

Where in Europe are you?

They have dealers all over the US. Although the dealer needs to overnight your ECU to Hoppen, the system works.

Here's a picture of an RS6 with MTM tuning - or at least badged.

That is a cheap-looking website. :bang: Are there any performance figures for the various stages?

If you don't get an answer here, try the secretary of state or whatever agency issues plates in NY; they should know if it's taken. In fact, if you want it for yourself, contact them soon because your post here may give other New Yorkers the idea of getting that plate for themselves!
