Hi,

Some of you may remember a thread a while back about producing a RS6 calendar...The thread eventually died off, but I'm determined to have one sorted for 2004.

Here's how it'll go.

A new thread will be opened for every new month (?), we might use the same thread throughout the year.

A Member of rs6.com posts a picture of their RS6/S4/RS4 into that thread, either by using their own hosting location or rs6.com's with the Admin's permission (of course;) ). There will be a minimum size, for editing purposes. We can decide on the picture size(s) in here.

The best picture by popularity vote for that month will have RS6.com traditional picture banner put onto it, along with the month and possibly the days of the month also put onto it, if these an be sourced for 2004 dates (?).

The chosen picture will then be posted back into the thread on the first day of the month it's selected for and then can be used as a desktop background.

What do you think? Any suggestions? :)

Thanks!

Most definitely, submit your picture when the challenge officially opens and if it gets enough votes, it can go up. ;)

Well, if any of my pictures are good enough (link in sig) to make the grade, I have 1600x1200 versions available & I don't mind donating to the cause if Erik can host the resulting edited image.

We could buy a gallery like this: http://www.m5board.com/photopost/

Or anything else. Suggestions?

I was about to purchase it but I just lost my job so I'm not too happy about doing anything but cut expenses.

I can certainly host any pictures, it just takes a lot more time than people can ever think to manage it.
A gallery is better and more automated.

I agree with Erik that it will be difficult to manage an inflow of pics especially if he has to spend a lot of time to organize and host them.

Ideally, we should all make a little contribution to RS6.com to purchase the photo gallery software. It will create an extension to the RS6 forums providing an organized member gallery. With this, members simply upload the pictures themselves and it will be made public to all registered members of the forum. With such a photogallery, it will attract more enthusiasts to contribute to the forums as well.

So what do you all think? It will be great if we can all chip in for the gallery as a small token of appreciation to Erik and Peter's hardwork in making this the best RS6 resource out there.

KRM that is brilliant I like the contribution idea. Lets set up a pay pal account so Erik can get the money that we want to give.

It's been in the pipeline for a while...just needs the funding, which I'm willing to chip in for. I don't think I'll be able to do pay pal tho. a cheque will be better suited to my circumstances.

Any payment option is fine with me I just wanted to get the ball rolling on this issue because I think it would be great fun and I knew of no other way besides check and I did not know if every one would be into that.
Erik can you take a check from the US I have never sent a check overseas.

I like the idea a lot.

I've been running the calendars from Audizine on my desktop at work it would be kind of cool to have a pure RS6 desktop calendar.

(My home desktop is an AudiWorld Sedan/Avant RS6 pic)

Maybe initially everyone hosts their own picture and links are posted for everyone to vote on.

Erik,

Sorry to hear about the job.

I'm in on the contribution and I have a Pay Pal account or can send a check.

THE NEWS ARE:

We can all thank sturs6 for having the kindness of paying for a Gallery.

I have had internet problems so I haven't been able to be online.
It seems that when my neighbour surfs I can't.

In any case I will try to get the Gallery online as soon as possible, but we're entering the holidays so I wouldn't like to give any promises to the date when it will be online since it involves other people as well.

The goal is that all members of RS6.com will be able to upload pictures to the gallery. There will be a size limit to what each person can upload, similar to what bmwm5.com is using.

Thanks again everybody and especially sturs6!
