I've read here that the ABT chip does not invalidate the UK warranty. My dealer, however, was quite insistent that it does and says he has had it confirmed by Audi UK that they will not honour the warranty for engine problems where the car has been chipped by anyone at all.

It also seems odd to me that if the ABT system had Audi's blessing, why do you never see mention of it in the specs of any of the second hand cars on the official Audi UK website?

Well, Dave had his chipped and supposedly his warranty was intact afterwards. Usual Audi UK trick - nobody knows what's going on.

Dave's posts: here (http://www.rs6.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1008) and here (http://www.rs6.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1101)

Also, try a search for Abt and Warranty like this (http://www.rs6.com/forum/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=26352&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending) .

Ok, I'm confused - on another forum doubt is also cast on the validity of the warranty post-chip here in the UK.

I really hope it is covered, as I know that after a few months I will need more power, spoilt brat that I am.

As I mentioned before I think some part of Abt has gone bancrupt.
I am not sure if anything with the warranty has changed, but if you give Abt UK a call they should be able to respond.

Surprisingly the RS6 isn't on the list yet
