I urgently need to get the 4 wheel alignment information for the RS6.

Can anyone help? Or do you know anyone who can?

Cheers

Any respectable tire company or garage is my suggestion.

My car has been at my local Audi garage and since wednesday they have been waiting for the info from Audi technical. I have contacted many local garages and other Audi centres to no avail.

So I ask again does anyone know for sure, a specific person or organisation who have done this work in the past and know what to do I would appreciate it.

Sorry, can't be of assistance. What do you need the alignment data for, a specific problem?

I'm not terribly impressed with Audi UK's "technical" assistance - I asked several times for information on head unit coding values for Bose that I thought would have been easy to find out and never got a response. Useless - I seem to know more about the cars than anyone at my dealer, including the service staff.

Strange. Around here it would have been no problem. :eye:

I bet you can't post the correct alignment details on here by Monday 12.00hrs, the details required for the RS6 with or without 2ME suspension!

I find it hard to understand why you think I am either daft or we English are just plain stupid.

If it's so easy show me I am the idiot!

How about using this sites (http://www.alignmentspecs.com/aspfiles/IE_Index.asp) online tool to search if you can spare the few $$$.

I havn't looked hard for you but i've just had a quick look around the internet - i'm sure with much more looking you could find the info you need for free.

Good luck with your search!

BTW... i'm sure us english are slightly  as I managed to reply to a thread that was a year old without even noticing!

I lay down the guantlet to all RS6.com users and not just Erik.

Bet you can't post the info before midday 8th December, and remember it's an Avant RS6 with 2ME Super Sport Suspension, factory order.

Just out of interest, the regular suspension system isn't even on UK dealers "elsa" system yet, then only just had a software upgrade.

Shame on you Audi!

Why don't you contact quattro GmbH in Neckarsulm. Most of them speak good English, they will fax you the 'standard' setup for your suspension option. Then take the car to a wheel specialist, have each wheel rebalanced and then go to a good alignment shop.
Make sure that the steering wheel is centred, that you have half a tank of fuel, that somebody of your weight is in the driver's seat and bounce the car, front and rear, to settle the springs. In fact just as if you were going to weight the car.
Then have the alignment set. This is an opportunity for you to discuss such issues as tyre pressures, turn-in, handling behaviour and the guys doing the work may be able to set the car up to suit you. Remember the 'standard' setup is a bit of a 'one size fits all', and almost certainly is not the best set up for your personal circumstances.

Plexus,

IMHO Nordschleife's response is the route you should take. It makes a lot of sense.

As for what I would call your child psychology method of trying to get others to get the information for you ("I lay down the gauntlet").....well don't be too surprised if you don't get many responses to your "challenge". As far as I'm concerned most folks on this forum don't respond well to that mentality/method of goading people to get infomation for you that you can get yourself with a little more effort.

PLEASE take this as constructive criticism. I don't think there's much danger of it turning into a flame war because these folks aren't into that sort of thing. It's more likely that most folks would just ignore the demeaning nature of your "challenge"and not respond at all. FWIW! It's quite likely that you didn't intend for your "challenge" to sound demeaning or childish but it certainly could be perceived that way!

I hope you get your alignment/balance issues resolved. And I'm sure others would appreciate hearing what you come up with.

Why so upset?

I was trying to help and was never ever close to imply that you were stupid. Perhaps you got the smileys wrong?

But I now see that you wanted the alignment information not the actual help doing the alignment.

Anyway, good luck!
