The AW post you show specifically says his tranny failed before he chipped. How does that relate to mods?

I think he's refering to the warranty. And that if you chip and this occurs you could be SOL. It's certainly covered if you don't modify is his point, I think.

Exactly. As the AW poster noted, there is a likelihood that the new transmission would have been on him if he had chipped prior to the failure.
