winter tire pressures

I put on my new 225/45 18" Dunlop Winter Sports today and found that Audi recommends 44 psig f/r for an average loaded car. Seems too high, so I went to 40. Even at 40 psi feels like riding on rocks.

What pressures are you running on your winter tires?

The set I received from my dealer (225/45 18" Dunlop Winter Sport M3s) were set at 34 psi on all four wheels. I wondered if I needed to bump up the pressures, but the ride has been fine so far.

and they were set at 34 psi as well. I think I'll lower the pressure to 37 and see if the ride improves.
