Since it looks like I'll be unable to attend the summer race at Watkins Glen this year, I've been considering a run down to Road Atlanta for Petit Le Mans in October. Tentative schedule is...
Thursday Oct 2 - drive from Central PA to Knoxville, TN (may start Wed night, depending on work schedule)
Friday Oct 3 - Leave Knoxville after an EARLY breakfast and head to Atlanta via "Tail of the Dragon" or other suitable twisty mountain road (sunrise cruse?) - Arrive at Road Atlanta on Friday morning for practice/qualifying/support races
Saturday Oct 4 - 10 hr Petit Le Mans Race
Sunday Oct 5 - Begin drive back to PA
I got in touch with Audi Club Georgia and they said there will be an Audi car corral and hospitality tent for the event. They will send me details when everything is set. Fri/Sat race ticket (including paddock access) is $70, plus the corral. Not sure what it will cost yet, but the corral at WGI was a whopping $20 for the weekend. Road Atlanta's website shows $50 for Corvette/Porsche, I'm guessing ours would be the same.

Maybe I could hook up with some of the NOVA guys in the Winchester/Harrisonburg area for a nice leisurely drive down I-81 on Thursday.
Who is up for an RS6 parade into the corral on Friday morning?
