Not bad at all, looks good. I assume you will eventually replace the PVC with aluminum. Any details on how you attaching the piping to the mafs and having something that will hold the whole assembly down?

Very similar to how I'm going to modify the back end of my FMU intake. I will use carbon tubing for the post-filter section, aluminum will absorb and retain much more heat.

Certainly better, but metal is metal..will get hot eventually.

PVC you say? Seems legit...

I still don't see how these intakes cost $700+ when you can easily recreate them out of very simple off-the-shelf piping and filters. The only one that has some fab into it is the FMU intake. And with no dyno numbers on really any of them I'm skeptical.

The 90deg elbow actually comes down over the MAF further than the stock airbox did. I have some epdm rubber acting as an o-ring on it. I used the lighter 3" schedule 30? PVC for this. I have some temporary supports under the filters (1/4" copper tubing) to hold it steady. The tops of the filters just touch the hood insulation and that also helps to keep it all in place.

Intakehoses.com has every you need with the exception of the filters. Maybe cost you $200 for the samething and not going to spend $700+ on the same thing. maybe some J-B Weld and some high temp paint or wrap and call it a day. Thinking about doing this for my next project. Im sure you could even get the tubing and bring it to a exhaust some with measuremnts and angles need and it would still be a lot cheaper then buying one online. What filters did you use beardown1?

Have you ran the engine under load with the system installed? Any different in tone of engine?

Anyway you can put together a parts list and instructions? This would be a very fun weekend project!! I wonder if wrapping the PVC piping with exhaust wrapping will look good and help with heat-soak.
