The colour is called "Merlin Purple" and is a Audi exclusive colour.

I will reserve judgement on the colour until I see it in the flesh .. you can't tell how much 'photoshoping' has been used .... indeed in maybe a 3M wrap
Edit, V5C states Maroon .... so no wrap :)

Reminds me of the 'Plum Crazy' color Dodge/Plymouth used in late 60's/early 70's on their muscle cars. Fantastic color.

Geebuz. That car is so pretty I can't imagine driving it in inclement conditions.
