is the secret key code the same as the 4 digit code on my radio owners manual?

You need the"skc" to access the coding of a key for ignition in vagcom. I'd like to add a key and the only code I have is the code in the radio manual.

I've been through this. U need an eBay cable and vag commander and you can find your code. I believe the instructions are on rs246.com

You can manually read it from the serial eeprom of the ecu, too. If you have an eBay OBD2 connector or a Ross-Tech cable, you can read it using the VAG K-Com Commander program through the OBD port.
