What is this part #? Shift Cable Locking Clamp.......

It is # 3 in the pic below. I had to dremel mine open to release the shifter cable prior to the engine/tranny pull and am having a hard time finding a replacement. Any help would be much appreciated!!

P.S. Not the smartarse kind that tells me I need to do the 6MT conversion either :nana:

where the heck is that? I didn't have one of those when I disconnected my shifter? The shifter linkage just popped off at the multiswitch on the drivers side?? Bitch to get back on, but easy to remove....

I think you're talking about part 21 on the drawing. It comes as an assembly called "kit for the electromagnet"

If I'm right, then it is part# 4B0 798 151 N

For the life of me I could not get the ball socket to come of from the front of the transmission. After hours of frustration I removed the bottom cover of the shift mechanism and went that route instead........seemed like a good idea at the time.

I saw that diagram on vagcat.com and at first thought it was #21 as well, but after investigating further I don't think that is it. I mean.....it is just a plastic end piece not an electromagnetic flux capacitor.

I know I have the part you need. You're welcome to it, as soon as I can find it. A cursory check of the barn and garage and I didn't see it, but I know it came with the trans I bought.
