ESP Light on and off and fault code 01425...

Anyone have experience with this? The ESP light will flicker on and off, sometimes stay on completely. Here is the scary thing though - at lower speeds, around 25 MPH and less when braking the ABS will kick and and brake HARD and then let off. Happened to my wife and she refuses to drive it until I am certain it is fixed. I took it for a spin and got it to do it as well. I scanned it and got this code -

01425 - Yaw Rate Sensor (G202); Signal Wire
57-10 - Electric Circuit Failure - Intermittent

Done a bit of searching and it appears it could be the speed sensor (s)? Has anyone experienced this? Also, strange thing is every time this happens only the ESP light comes on, NO ABS light at all.

The ESP uses a couple of acceleration sensors for Stability control including the Yaw rate sensor and the ABS wheel sensors

I have had that happen as well.

The sensor is probably bad, the circuit inside becomes unsoldered, it is a very fragile sensor.

Sensor is under the backseat, expensive for a new one. 8E0907637A or Bosch 0265005245

Thanks for the replies...Marklar182, did you replace the sensor under the rear seat and this fixed your problem? Last night I removed the front speed sensors and cleaned them. They were REALLY dirty. Cleared the code and drove about 10 miles with no problems. The code did not reappear either. Hope this fixed it. I guess if it comes back I will have to replace the sensor under the seat.

I never replaced. I have had it happen ~3-4 times in 3yrs, but it always resets when I restart the car. One of these days I will let the warranty company eat it :)
