Hi everyone

My RS6 is due for new tyres soon and i was wondering what is the maximum width you can go on the stock wheels.

Currently running 255/35/19

Is it possible to go 265/35/19 or even 275/30/19?

Appreciate opinions / advice

Thanks, John

I know folks have went wider on stock rims but if you check the tire manufacturers website I believe 255 is the widest recommended for 8.5" wheels. 265 & 275mm start at 9" width wheels. Not saying you can't, but under heavy side loading (cornering they are worried about the shoulder rolling I guess).

255 is maximum width recommended for 8.5" rim. You 'could' put 265mm on, but nothing larger.

Thanks for the response guys

Forgot to mention I have the euro spec RS6 that come stock with 9inch wide wheel (19 x 9)

I would like to know if 265 or 275 will cause rubbing issues?

Cheers John
