Hi.
I am looking for a broken transmission to send over to 517 trans for a rebuild.
Does anybody have one for sale?
it does not have to work correctly it just has to be complete and not fully burned out

if you have a store near you, the shipping prices on any part, engines, transmissions etc, is very good through fastenal, only issues is that you have to pick up and drop off at the Fastenal store. http://www.fastenal.com/web/en/22/third-...455717!64135591

Will be significantly cheaper than his $150 quote.

Will be significantly cheaper than his $150 quote. Is this going within the same city? Then I would assume this price would be okay. Anything outside of that and I would bet the house on the fact that there is no shipping company out there that will ship 350lbs of tranny for anything less than $1-$1.5/lb.

Shipped 220lbs worth of stuff on a pallet from Miami to Richmond VA. total was $125 took 6 days...worth a shot, excuse me, I slightly exaggerated the savings to be had.

I'm pretty sure Stephen....aka Speedtrapped, shipped his complete motor down under for only a couple hundred dollarsDoesn't equate. I am in the process of having a transmission shipped cross continent and the best rate I could find after calling more than 6 freight forwarders was $687 which included $150 for a residential pick-up. Rates went as high as $1,400.00..... Would love to see actual receipt from shipping an engine or tranny cross the country from anyone that is less than $1/lb.

Talked with him today....I was right on the number. I'm sure if you send him a pm he can supply you with the name of the carrier. I'm also sure he isn't going to look for a receipt, that he probably doesn't have, to prove to you what he paid....lol. All fluids had to be drained and it had to be palletized and they came and picked it up from a commercial location.

Geez, I don't know...seems cheap to me...UPS wanted over $100 to ship a 1lb TCU halfway across our country in 1 day.

$200..and how may times do they have to move it from truck to truck to loading dock to truck to ship to...
