There's a lot of hype on the upcoming M5. Rumor has it that it will powered by a 500-550bhp V10. I can believe that but am skeptical about the sub 3700lb curbweight. The new 545i is well over 3800lbs. I also wonder what chasis and handling upgrades they will use to keep the car on the road. Rear wheel only drive is going to need more traction control then they already have( part of the reason I am a Porsche and Audi fan). I not sure that we'll see the M5 in the states in Fall 2004 as anticipated. What's the scoop in Europe?:addict:

Thanks for the link. Just for kicks I called my local BMW dealership today. I asked when the new M5 would be in and if they had formed a waiting list yet. The answer was "in about one year and yes!" So then I asked if any pricing had been announced and what was the projected cost. The answer this time was a nebulous whatever the "market value is." I replied "you mean MSRP right?" Well actually they're anticipating $20-30K over MSRP for the first 6 months. You know what...my RS-6 is looking better everyday. Maybe it's me but I just can't justify paying premiums like that. It's not the money it's the principle...well maybe it's the money too.

Yes, that is crazy. You should go to an out of state dealer and pick it up at MSRP without any problems is my take. :bang:
