Yes. Newer ZF transmissions are way better designs with less parts, more gears and they are way more reliable.

I do like the 6HP in my girlfriends '05 A8 much better although I think the Aisin in my Cayenne shifts faster but it doesn't have an internal/rear mounted Center differential, it has a separate transfer case.

many parts for the newer transmissions are not offered by Audi. You simply give your dealer your old transmission and two bags full of money and they give you another transmission. Probably the best way too...unless its get broken after low mileage and youre warranty has expired...
