Played with the Porsche and Tesla (had no idea they were Teslas) group rolling through town earlier today....all Georgia plates for some reason....on their way to Deer Valley Resort I'm sure...

Then had to go pick up an entertainment center tonight...

Are we pre-wired for trailer lights? I was thinking about installing a hitch for towing a small trailer for track days, when I eventually get time to do so.

Please tell me you had your fun whilst hauling the trailer (empty) because, if so, ::slowclap::

Either way, it's always fun to play around with brand new $100k+ cars in a 10-year-old grocery getter :)

You gotta love this hidden hitch fabrication done by Chicago Performance Tuning. I'd personally just buy a truck, but you have to appreciate it, nonetheless.

I can just imagine the looks you get on the highway pulling who know what. I have no idea how you can even determine what's a safe limit for the RS4 or RS6, etc...

That's pretty sneaky :)

I'd imagine the safe limit would be based on the bar and hitch installed - not like we're too very limited on torque and braking capabilities... I mean, I wouldn't haul 10+ tonnes on a full sized trailer like is pictured above, but I'd be pretty comfortable hauling that trailer loaded down with a properly secured load under 3 tons total - then it comes down to tongue weight, and that's where I was disappointed in my last vehicle - 2006 X5 4.4 was rated for 3 tons of capacity but only 400lbs tongue weight on the Class 3 hitch...

Love the fabricated hitch. Mine is just a 1 1/4 inch receiver and I wouldn't tow any more than the 2k limit for the hitch as it doesn't bolt to anything meaningful. Nothing prewired, just have to buy the light kit adapter.

Been there, done that....you have to insure a truck, maintain it....and worst of all...drive it.
