View Full Version : Going to get timing belt done instead of doing it myself

I am usually a DIY guy but we are about to start a house remodel and I just don't have the time (and with a full garage) the space to do it myself. I live fairly close to 034 and I am just going to have them do the timing belt for me.

I usually take the opportunity to do other little things to make the car better when doing these jobs. For example I know the IC's leak and a decent DIY is to seal up the end tanks to make them efficient again. While the car is apart I wanted to take the IC's out and seal them up. I might ask 034 if I can take them home for a night and seal them myself. Is there anything else I should be doing that is known to degrade on these cars while doing this job? I will probably get diverter valves too since they are probably showing age now.

Thanks,

Alex
