Random thought as I was lusting over some hot Avant porn: with a lot of the C5 guys going the 01E route I'm curious if any C6 people have done that? Particularly the guys running big tunes? Would the 01E hold up? If not is there a box that can hold up to it? Or is the C6 box just enough better that its not a concern? It appears (according to Wikipedia) that the C6 RS uses the same trans as the S6 just with different TCU?

i've been driving a few RS6 C6 as i was on the edge to buy one and those boxes really seem to be much better than ours so i don't see any reason for any of them to go with the manual box. Many of the C6 here have been tuned by either ABT or MTM, so that means they have from 640hp to over 730hp and more than 800NM of torque and even after 60k miles driven the boxes seemed to be just fine, very sharp and quick changes. So far i didn't read on the UK forums of a gearbox problem with the C6. MRC in UK did a C6 RS6 that holds 1000hp and over 1000NM of torque, and that is on the original tranny!
