Getting ready to finally put the engine back in. Are there different fluids for the transaxle and trans or is it all one fluid?

Thanks

It's different. I believe the front and rear is 75w90 and the center is 75w90ns

Ummm...front/rear/center? I understand rear being different. Front vs. center?

The front & rear diffs take the 75w90 (synthetic) and the center (hanging off the back of the tranny) takes the 75w90NS. The front Diff on the tranny has no drain plug so if it is out of the car just tip the tranny and drain it from the fill plug or else you and evacuator and suck the oil from the fill plug. The rear Diff, as on the rear axle, also takes 75w90. The Center Diff has a drain hole on the rear bottom of the Center Diff housing and the fill hole is just up the side around the 4 O'clock position or so. The Front Diff has the fill hole on the right side front differential cover.

Sooooo.....what am I looking at here? front filler? mid filler?

First pic looks like front diff fill/drain to me. You can either tip it as its out of the car, but I still think it'd be easier to use a manual vacuum pump(like you use when it's in the car).

Im not sure, but I think the second pic are just vents/breathers. Mark?

3rd pic looks like a filler for the center.

So what I'm trying to decide is whether or not I need to service these parts before I throw this trans in the beast. I've already decided not to have the trans or TC gone through as it was out of a wrecked car that had the trans replaced. Am I nuts?

Probably. :)

Exactly right, first pic is the Front Diff filler plug, I also use a Vacuum hand pump to drain it. The second is the tranny breather covers, third is the Center diff filler plug, there is a drain plug for the Center Diff at the bottom below the fill plug.
