Wheels and Tires sanity check please 295/35/18

Working with all of the various threads I am trying to work out if 295/35/18 tires on 18x10 et 30 rims will work. Here is my data if someone can give me a sanity check:

Confirmed that there are board members using 18x10 rims

Confirmed that there are board members running 275/30/19

-stock 255/40/18 tires equal a tire diameter of 26.031
-255/45/18 inch tire that has a diameter of 27.035 inches rubs

-275/30/19 equals a tire diameter of 25.496

-295/35/18 equals a tire diameter of 26.130

- a 10 inch rim is 254mm wide

- a 295mm tires is 11.61 inches in width

- a 275mm tire is 10.8268 inches in width

So I think the numbers give creedance that it will work.

I can't speak for the RS6, but I've had 275/35-19 on my S6 with Koni/Eibach FSD shocks/springs and they would rub the outside fender if I didn't maintain at least 40 psi tire pressure.

Tires were Hankook Ventus Evo (garbage in anything but dry weather).

Wheels were 19 by 9.5 Offset +32

I run 275 width tires and they are just barely flush with the fender. I'd say if you did run a 295 series tire it would be out past your fender. Given that width there'd be no way to pull it in further without rubbing on the inside. Diameter is fine but you'll probably be too wide!

I run the above 275/30/19 setup with 10" ET32 rims and they barely fit. The rim is literally 1 mm from the suspension and the tire PS2s comes flush to the outer fender. Even a different tire might not fit if the edge tapper were different. 295/35/18 is not going to work. My 2₵

I am 275 30 19 and mine still have big bump bottoming issues somewhere in the general wheel region. Mtm bimotos 19 9.5

A 295 would likely fit the rear w/o issues, however when the inner side wall sweeps past the upper spring perch it gets close on my car-- maybe 3mm.

I don't see how 295's (maybe in 25-30 series, but not 35's, depends on tire brand, too) would fit on the front on anything other than stock ride height. Lowered? Hope it has threaded coil-overs... I have 2-3mm between the tire and upright (de-nubbed) and maybe the same on the outside (to inner fender lip, with the screws removed ((gains about 2mm)). Also, There isn't much tire diameter room to work with and may rub the wheel wheel liner on full lock (as mine do, but it's just annoying- no damage).

If someone made custom front fenders we could all run 10-11" wheels- OR custom hub carrier/up-rights that give more inner clearance. Big $$$$. But I think these cars would still steer and track well on better roads even with ubber-steam roller front tires.

Be great to hear of someone that makes it happen!

BTW, we can probably save you a bit on tires and wheels. Happy to check it out for people...

Try searching as there are probably a lot of pictures already posted here. The one thing to remember is that the offset of whatever rim is being used will impact how flush the tire sit's to the edge of the fender.

I've posted a couple pictures of my tire/rim combo. I've had to use 6mm spacers on the front to push the rim out so it clears from the inside. I'm going to ensure the infamous 'knob' is not in the way this spring when I go back to summers in hopes I can get rid of the spacer and have the tire more flush with the fender.

Also, the 25 or 30 series, unless I am totally off, usually does not have the ability to carry the weight (load rating) for our weight.
(wishing Audi would let us into a group carbon fiber buy).....

My 2 cents....massive rubbing w/295s on the fronts (inside, not the outside fender)....on my stock suspension car : 19x9.5s et 30. Grinding down the knobbies up front 'might of' helped but at full turn the tires rubbed the inner fender wells something terrible.

So glad I tried them out before buying (private seller was nice enough to let me bolt on the fronts for a test drive around the block)

Make sure you buy an 'RS6' approved size ! :addict:

My 2 cents: I just switched tires on my RS6. I was running 275/30-19 Michelin Pilot Super Sports on 19x9.5 VMR 701's et45 w/ 15mm spacers. I absolutely LOVED these tires, but there were some rubbing issues and once they wore down, I was having noticeable vibration issues from about 65 mph and up. Ended up ordering a set of 255/35-19 Continental DWS. A 'RS6 approved' tire, as someone said earlier. I'll post pics and a review once they're on the car. Still toying with the idea of listing it for sale. We'll see...

I am running PSS 275/30/19 on 19x9.5 (ET29) and no spacers. No rubbing anywhere and looks good.

I have never heard of anyone running 285's...
