I got tired of my iPhone not fitting anywhere in my car and generic mounts don't work for me. So I am making my own. It will slide into the spot to the left with power and audio cables coming out the back to be hooked up. I have a mophie helium case for the iPhone 5. Tonight I taped off the bottom 2/3rds of the phone and made a firm rubber mold. From that I made a plaster casting of the bottom 2/3rds and sanded it to smooth it out and make it ready for resin and fiberglass tomorrow. I will be dyeing the resin black using RIT powdered dye. The mount will attach with a swivel ball that I scavenged from the generic bracketron mount I bought yesterday. Pics so far:

I'm planning to make a custom one myself. But I'm gonna fit it inside the armrest, as I ripped out the existing german phone ;)

JSRS6, your right about the use of "tracking" as a substitute for "I understand, or follow what your saying", folks working for the Army use that alot.

I had a question, I didn't "track" what you meant by "the spot on the left", could you clarify? I would also like to mount my iphone, I had considered using the cupholder, but then I'd have no place for my cup!

Here is a pic of the wires mocked up.

And here is the rough cut out. I have since cut more off the top, trying to make it as minimalist as possible so as not to block the ac vent when the phone isn't in.

Here is the location. I would have possibly used the right blank spot, but I have a funk switch that I will eventually wire up, and it only fits in the right blank spot.

Here is the ball joint that I bastardized from the bracketron mount I bought a few days ago.

And here is an approximate location to put the joint on the mount.
