I want some louder growls from my RS6, should I go with the Dahlbäck custom exhaust or the Milltek one? :D

http://www.dahlbackracing.se/english/main.asp (You might have to select Audi -> RS6 -> 450hk -> Exhaust)

http://www.millteksport.com/exhaust.products.cfm?variantid=22

Which one would you choose?

PS: Money is not an issue...

Hit up RSSIK on the forums and ask him to send you a sound clip of his custom exhaust.....it totally makes all the other mentioned exhausts here sound like Honda Civics....lol.

You wont regret that decission esp if it's a non res decatted one :).............................but you will need a friendly mot man or what ever they have over there in Sweden.

I'll be buying them straight of Milltek I guess, the fee that the swedish company wanted for the pipes is outrageous...

Since you're already on that side of the pond...

Plenty of choices, resonated, non-res, high-flow cats, etc.

Just recieved another email from the swedish tuning company again now, turns out they want even more cash for the job, and this does not include fitting new downpipes, as he said he wouldn't recommend that, becasue it involved lifting up the engine, and that would be VERY expensive.

(I thought it already was VERY expensive....)

Money is not really an issue, but I'm not paying over 45.000 SEK (approx 6600 US$ / £4200) for a Milltek exhaust.

Sounds like a rip-off to me.

^Just wait until you have to pull the engine for something else (aka oil cooler leak, starter, transmission, change the oil (just kidding but seems like it). Yeh- I wouldn't do it just for the Milltek system. I was out essentially the cost of the down pipes and exhaust as I had it done when I had turbos replaced. Since they had to remove the stuff anyway, it wasn't any additional labor expense to have it installed.

Money is always an issue if u ask me...;0

Yeah, I agree with you, but it's still not worth that much, it's just some pipes, I can probably weld them myself at work if I had the measurements etc.

£4,200, feck that. Drive over to the UK and get one fitted... It takes an hour for a catback, and around 3 for downpipes.

My 2 cents....if non-SE; just delete the rear cans.... it's cheap to have a shop make straight pipes to poke out back.

Can easily put them back in too if the mood changes.

Yeah Amar, would do that if I could get used to driving on the wrong side of the road mate ;)

Jim, did you bag your mufflers?

Not yet Mike, it's on this winter's 'to-do' list.

Jeff in G-bury did it to his RS6 tho...I've been inspired. The sound is, how should it say it?...PROPER !

Hmmm. would love to hear it..no drone? He just removed mufflers and poked a straight pipe out with stock tips?

I didn't drive in his car yet but, yes, just straight SS pipes made to fit in where the mufflers were. His non-SE like mine; it looks easy to R & R.

Other doodes here have done it...they should chime in on the drone (or no drone).
