I was moving along nicely at 110 mph or so driving from Dresden back to Frankfurt and a C5 RS6 Avant, Mugello Blue, came up on my tail, backed off and checked me out, I checked him out, and I noticed an "R" under the RS6. He accelerated to around 140 mph and so did I and I did not feel comfortable going faster because of the traffic and he stomped on it and flew away. Very fast car, then slowed backed down and we both cruised at about 100 mph or so for many miles, given the traffic. It was fun, but what is the "R"?

A badge someone put there. IIRC he has the MTM568 tune with upgraded turbos. The "R" was in the color red, not?

Not the one I was thinking. I was think the c5. MTM had a euro tuning package that includes different turbos and other bit and claim 568hp. I know there is a guy that did some other mods and slapped an R on the back.

I think it was MTM that liked to add the "R" to the rear. We may have our opinions about the "R" but I thank you for the cool story. Clearly the car was well storted and just the thought of traveling at those speeds along side another sister vehicle was a moment of pure exitement. Oh the Autobahn....take me home say our cars and we are all jealous.

When you blow past someone on the hwy it plays "V-tec just kicked in yo!" through the radio.

The NSX is the one exception to the V-Tec rule as its too expensive for most people to ruin. It takes a special kind of new money douche to both buy and rice out one. Thus a tastefully moded NSX garners similar respect as its GT-R competition in my book! My assumption is that from your other cars you fall into the tasteful catigory not the rice one.

I love the NSX- great chassis. But adding badges that shant be there is the issue.. visual "enhancements" that don't add performance is "ricey," not the car itself.

Were you recalling this one?

Not an avant, but it is a C5 RS6 tweaked by MTM.
It also has its share of assorted badges, vents, and scoops.

Great story, by the way! I, too, am jealous.

Lol....it's all good. Many NSX owners actually rebadge their cars with H emblems, as the USA is the only country where it was an Acura. With the exception of my Pro Drive wheels and dropped height on KWv3 my car would appear to be completely stock going down the road.

I have seen this, don't understand it at all! Why anyone would want a Honda over an Acura I'm not sure! Anyone who does that probably walks past the Coors to get Keystone instead!

Like I said.....NSX was a Honda in every country except USA. The NSX-R model came with performance improvements never available here, so people like to "clone" them. I forgot, I actually have a carbon type R hood that is paint matched to the car. It is functional in the way that it actually aids in cooling and adds measurable downforce as well.

The USA spec NSX only has an "Acura" emblem on the front bumper and center tail light lens. All other badging on car is Honda Motor Corp.
