Hi,

I am curious if anyone has driven a 2013 A8L with the 4.0 liter turbo? I had a chance to drive an S8 (great car) and I have heard the 3.0SC is not quite up to the challenge of that size car!

Just looking for personal experience.

Thank you,

Mike

I did before purchase of S6. It was very smooth. Heavy and smooth. The 8 speed purs along nicely.

Inside was beautiful

Yes, I had also driven one a few weeks ago...that motor is exactly what the car needed...agreed; the 3.0 leaves one wanting more, especially at the price they are asking for them and the size of the boat that it is.

It will be great used car buy in 3-5 years I bet...all that cash now tho is hard to swallow for such a hugely depreciating asset.

I didn't realize that the 4.0t was available in the A8L.

In Europe, I presume in US too, MY '13, both A8/A8 L recieved 4.0 T - 420 hp instead of 4.2 N/A...

There are several dealers who have the 4.0t in stock. I am planning on driving one on Monday.

Drove it today. Very Nice...
Has panoramic sunroof, 22 way comfort seats. $92,000 - sale $6000=$86,000 - $3000 loyalty discount = $83,000.....less than my RS6 cost 9 years ago LOL...

Plenty fast, yes it's heavy on the turns, has all season tires.....

Tempting....

But will it make me smile like my RS6?

It's tempting...I'd like to see info on what tweaking can be done on that engine. My understanding is that the transmission is NOT a weak link in this car...

Any insider info on S8 transmission vs. A8 4.0 transmission???
