I'll give you 4 car lengths 60-110 in the twisties in exchange for driving to the ski resort in a foot of snow, in exchange for taking my friends to the movies, in exchange for $150,000.

Not as fast as a 430 but not embarrassing either, it would suck to spend $150k and still see a 10 year old RS in your mirror. Love this car :addict:

Upon further review, as a wise man once told me, there is always someone with a bigger house, a faster car, and a hotter wife.....I'm very happy with my selection.

apparently the 458 Italia is extremely competent, while the F430 has a horrific metallic exhaust note (with a Tubi aftermarket exhaust) that I can't imagine living with. But much of the point of a Ferrari has absolutely nothing to do with either performance or impressing people. If I were so inclined, I'd be looking for a non-F1 F355 Spyder. Yes, it's slower than the RS6. But from 4000-8000rpm the engine will make your hair stand on end and you feel like you're going a hell of a lot faster than you actually are. The clanking of gearshifts, and that roar, that's the whole point really.

I just don't see that being worth the price of admission though. YMMV, and I wouldn't be surprised if I jumped on an F355 (with recalls done - actually out-of-pocket "recommended part replacements") that came my way at a decent price.

However, I do "get" the whole Italian thing with my Ducati. It's a lot slower than my BMW (motorcycle of course, people keep saying BMW makes cars?? Never heard of that.) but it's such a phenomenal sensory experience to ride that I don't think I'll give it up, even with the 6000 mile major service intervals.

Sensory experience...12736

600 hp, 610ft.lb......wouldn't trade for the RS ever...

hell, if I were getting that kind of power out of my car, I wouldn't be wanting anything else either! Jeebus, I'd love to have that kind of neck-wrenching torque on tap...

Torque will get you a ticket....hp will send you to jail...

not in Tennessee...speed alone does not qualify for reckless driving :)

Been pulled over twice...no tickets ever, just "excessive acceleration". Wifey says when we get one, we both deserve it.

I've got a friend with a 430 so I'll try to settle this next week

A friend and I were having the "if I won the powerball" discussion, and I honestly said I would not get rid of the RS. Sure, a few more would be added to the stable, but they would not replace the RS. Now of course, the RS would get some serious $$ attention, but I'd keep it. It's just a very special car. If someone smashed into me tomorrow and destroyed it I'd be looking for another. :addict:

If I won the powerball I would buy some of its siblings to keep it company at night: B7 RS4, R8 4.2 (I know I'm weird), RS2(if I won the powerball I could find a way to get one), C6 RS6 Avant (again because powerball) oh and a UR-Quattro...my garage would basically be a giant Audi family reunion! Also I would fulfill my dream of converting a gt coup to a v8 Quattro with a B7 S4 drivetrain(I play to much forza). I would also have an S8 and my only non Audi indulgence would be an XKE and a VW Touareg V10TDI(sold mine for the RS6)

I agree - with infinite money, I would own several RS6s, at least two stripped for track use. Don't laugh - I went through the local stock car rulebook thoroughly, and there is no mention of AWD, and at the local level, as long as it's a V8, there aren't many limits on the engine. So I would weld the doors on one and race it on ovals. Hey, it's the South!

I'd also have an Aventador - the first drivable Lamborghini. Oh wait, that's basically an Audi too. No coincidence that the first Lamborghini with significant Audi engineering is both quick and won't try to kill you.

Plus a Ducati Panigale. Wait, Audi owns 100% of Ducati as well. That's odd :P

Great idea on the stripped RS 6 for track use! Can you imagine what these babies would do lightened up and then built up to 600+ HP? I'm thinking 6sp conversion too...

Came across this on the bay... nice powerball car: R8 GT #260 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2012-R8-GT-CERAMICS-LE-260-333-224K-MSRP-1-99-FINANCING-/150847343157?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item231f33ca35) :hahahehe:

I bought my RS6 from that dealer. They always have high end special cars on the lot (by lot I mean warehouse).

Let me know if you want me to go kick the tires on it for you ;)
