I've found some nice pics of the new A6 in the next auto-magazine: MOT (it is in the German lanquage)

I try to describe the new A6:

A car looks like a A8 with the 4 nuvolari lights and the nose from a auto union (A3 style) it looks stronger than a A8 with some beautifull details and lines. I've seen much pictures of the new A6 but I think this must be the real new A6 because everything of styling details comparing to the total styling. BEAUTIFULL!!!!!

I try to put the pictures here with a scan of the pictures

Looks REALLY good, IMO - but I don't know how a US - shaped license plate is going to look in the middle of that "Auto-Union" grille....

Nice detailing on the sides, and the taillights, plus a stance VERY similar to the new A8 - it all makes sense.

Do we think these are photos, or "photo-imaginary-hopeful-renditions"...??;)

Looks? Who cares, just tell me it's a few hundred pounds lighter, and I'll be happy. :)

But I do think it is pleasing looking nonetheless. :)

Icon- what you don't like your little fatty there?

I like the styling alot.....I think audi is doing a MUCH better job of progressing the look then BMW is. Cant wait to see a S or RS car in the new A6 body:cheers:

Hey, there is nothing little about my fatty. :) ;)

I agree, if this is close to the final design, it is a handsome evolution.

A very nice evolution of design. to Audi for not "Bangelizing" their cars. I hate it when a car company creates something BUTT UGLY and then tells everyone "Well, if you don't like it then you're just not ready". Ready smeady. The car looks like crap. But Audi seems to give us the opposite. A nice steady progressive design that stays true to the previous model yet looks fresh.

As for the U.S. plates in the front grill... don't put one on!

It looks very good,.... but I think there is something from BMW 5 Series (the new one) and Audi A8 ...

Very, very nice, and if the new S6 comes with the V10 engine, that would be a extremely pleasing package.

I agree, the window shape through the A, B and C pillars are exactly similar.

I really like the Saloon A6 and I just hope the RS6 is some beastette with a manual box this time round. Rather exciting!

How is it for the 2004 model range of A6s? I haven't heard a whisper about Audi even testing them and I'm sure that the car would at least would be under testing in public by now, if it was for 2004....

Thanks for the pictures!

Hi,

My name is jean and I'm from Belgium, I've been following this forum for a while now and today I saw the pictures of the new a6.

Because I work for audi as a salesman, i happen to know that this is the real thing, my boss has seen the new a6 irl and he says it's georgeous. Me thinks it's going to be a huge sucess.:D

If there are any questions regarding audi just shoot. I'll be happy to inform you guys.

Bye

Jean

Does the C6 A6 use an ASF--Aluminum Space Frame--and how much does it weigh?

I don't know how much it weigh but I do know it uses lots of aluminium as the aluminium parts used for the new a6 are produced nearby our dealership. Launch for the berline is may 2004, avant will be here in 2005.

For all you diesel lovers out there, the new a6 is going to use the common rail technology which is already used in the new a8 4.0tdi and also bmw uses.

I'll try to find out more about it...

Hello,

Yep, that's a gorgeous car like they have always been:D

I have read something about the new bmw's 5series. I think that they aren't doing a good job if you look at the styling of the new 5 series and even the new 7. I mean it's so obvious that they want you to buy a new A6 or the A8 :trans:

Luckily that the VAG group exists because otherwise I would drive a bicycle for sure :D

No, really its a very nice car. I have seen some photos of the new passat as well. It will be a beauty too.

I hope I am able to buy an Audi as my next car, I like their build quality.

I m already saving the money for it :D

Ok, I will. No Problem

I asked Jean for which dealer he works for.
And or he could offer me a top class Audi for a very low price.

:D

Erik in case you didn't checked the "Racing" forum out please do. It's worth it. I have found some very nice photos of a VLN Porsche on the Nurburgring.

Photography in its purest form !!! :0:

This looks very promising. Excellent lines, a bit similar to the Nuvolari I think. Also, the Avant version looks a bit like the Avantissimo style concept (is that how it's called? Can't remember... )

Did someone say that there will be almosta year between the launch of the sedan and the Avant? Why?

Thank a bunch for all info and pictures!

What are Audi's plans for a new RS6? Will it only come at the end of the new A6 lifecycle or will they build it sooner? Also, are there any more coming to the US in 2004? When I was at Waterfest, one dude claimed he had one on order ... I just took it as BS at the time.

That's a bummer for all US residents. Don't you think they'll make adjustements? On the other hand, if they plan to ship over about 1000 cars, I don't see how Audi will justify the expense for the rebuild/modification.

I'm not expecting a new RS 6 earlier then '05-'06, do you guys (and girls) think I'm wrong?

That sounds about right if Audi goes by the "end-of-the-model-lifecycle-for-RS-versions" rule. Anywas, I'm looking forward to Audi's next play in the horsepower wars.
