I spent yesterday autocrossing in Huntsville AL, and while the slippery tarmac made the front tires scream for mercy, I found a technique totally by accident at the starting line that really seems to work.
I held the brake down maybe halfway, and revved to 1500. I only held the brake barely enough to keep the car from moving, which wasn't all that much. When I went, the car didn't dump boost and it moved smartly off the line.
It feels a lot more mechanically sympathetic than the duck rat foot. Will be trying this at the dragstrip Tuesday and see if it cuts down my 0-60ft times.
