I need a rebuild service or remanufactured rack and pinion... Anybody knows a good place where I can get one or rebuild the old Rack?

Can't help on where to get one, but the biggest problem is getting the old one out. The manual says its an engine drop. However, it's been done with the engine in te car, pulled out through the side. Hopefully someone that's done it can elaborate more.

Steering rack? $1,100 rebuilt from Audi. Take it out the side, check my posts on it....

The engine is out and the rack is out as well. Just looking where to rebuild it or buy a remanufactured one.

Umm, I would want to put an OEM refurb part in, for safety and cost of labor...

Of course, the first one I got failed right away, which they covered half of labor, whole part, fingers crossed!

Steering is super tight and responsive with new pump and rack now, love it!

I agree. Go with original audi parts. Some items you can skimp on but not the steering.

Thanks guys for the help. I called http://jorgenauto.com/ spoke to Roger he wants me to take pictures of the rack and the tag with numbers. After that he can tell me more, if they can rebuild it.
