Looks like I need a radiator! this thread (http://www.rs6.com/showthread.php/23723-Does-the-C5-RS6-share-it-s-main-radiator-with-the-4.2-NA-engine?highlight=radiator) had info that gives me hope I can do a solid repair instead of dropping $2100 at the dealership... I want to do it right but if I can save the cash of course I'd want to, but not at the cost of doing it half-assed

I haven't closely inspected it, but the part of the end tank where the petcock is located is definitely aluminum. I haven't seen any plastic.
Where is yours leaking?

I'm not exactly sure where, went right to the dealership. I'm on call for work this weekend so I had to act fast. I am going to see what the guy I normally take it to says. Wish I had more time and room to look at these things myself!

OUCH! Genuine lists the radiator at $781.00! You would think that such a "special" radiator would never need two more piggybacked mini radiators to keep things cool for the 'Warm Weather' option. Another reason I am glad my car spent it's entire life in Seattle, where two weeks of 90+F weather would be considered a scorcher of a summer.

I am buying new - I don't like to cut corners but I know with radiators there is always "a guy" that can do it and has done it for years. I'm just looking forward to having the car back. My girlfriends '97 civic is starting to get old. I'm not hammering it by any means (2/3 steady throttle) but a PT cruiser took me off the line today on the way home from a 12hr work day... :shame:
