View Full Version : Outside air temp sensor location?

I thought it was up between bumper and radiator cluster like my allroad but nope. My temp reading in the DIS is way off. Was reading 103F yesterday on way home and it was 80-81 outside. I checked Bentley but cant locate it.

It mounts in a hole in the plastic oil cooler shroud below the main radiator.
(Unless there are multiple things that look like outside air temp sensors...)

It mounts in the thing you always break off when you do the timing belt/ oil cooler pipe. On the front left. Probably held on by ty wraps like mine now is.

Stupid placement. Audi engineers thought of that one during Oktoberfest. Sort of like "hey Hans, why don't we just put this slushbox in it?".

As you drive at any speed, you should notice the temp go down.

Thanks. I'll look into it this weekend. Allroad is easy to see and replace with hand and no tools. Oh well, little different in these cars.
