..r18tdi has only one turbo but it's enough to achieve incredible spec data

Very interesting... Looking forward to this. And I hope Audi works out an "easier" engine with say a biturbo strategy instead of this (It works bloody brilliant now, but how's the durability in 5 years?) rather complicated engine.

+1. The tech in the M550dx sounds seriously complexed, I'm sure they had their reasons for going this route but has this been at the expense of durability.

I have read somewhere that Golf VII GTD will powered with 2.0 TDI bi-turbo developing 230 +/- hp...
I supose that we are going to see that engine all over VAG range in near future!

This engine will be the makings of the Q5. The chassis is so capable of coping with more.

Autocar are one of the ones saying the GTD will get 220hp plus they say the GTI will muster 260hp.

Well, that is going to be oponent to current BMW X3 xDrive35d, 3.0 - 313 ps... What will happend when you get that X3 trough Mperformance program!?

Info' that Joker stated is closer to mine, and it has more sense... Currently, in A4 and A6, 2.0 TDI producing 177 hp, and there are roumores that upcoming A3 will be having that same engine with 180 hp!
220-230hp for 2.0 bi-turbo sounds totaly reasoneble to me!

Based on this test the M550d xDrive isn't as quick as people thought on this forum. Definitely looks to be not as quick as the 550i.

Haven't seen the bi-turbo compared to the M550d in a single test yet but looking at one test of the Avant bi-turbo and it was only a couple of tenths slower in most acceleration categories even though it is down 70 horsepower.

Here is a test that shows that the A6 Biturbo is way quicker than the 265 hp Mercedes diesel. I don't see the same difference between the 381 horsepower BMW and the 313 horsepower A6.
