Hey folks...

What exactly is this jack in my center console. Forgive my ignorance as I am not really an AV guy...

Is it an audio input???

If so, what cable do I need to hook up my android phone or tablet? :)

I have kept the jack in the off chance an adapter can be used to make things hands free for current models of smart phones. We have a distracted driving law here in Alberta which I'm all for. If you can get the interface to work, it's a factory hands free through the microphone and speaker system.

My reasonably current smartphone (moto droid 2) works just fine with the car's handsfree system, but it took an RNS-E and bluetooth module to get there. I think that's probably the easiest way to use a modern phone. With some ingenuity I'm sure a generic BT interface could be wired up as well, but it wouldn't be plug and play.

I am planning on replacing the factory phone jack with a USB charging port.

I would love to see this happen.

I hate the location of the lighter in the RS6.
