I'm guessing you'll need to unbolt them prior to disconnecting the battery and wiring to seats. You'll have to operate the seat back and forth to get to the bolts.

Removed the 2 black bolts on front, but even when I use motor to drive seat alway to rear, the brackets are open ended in rear, the motor stops and seat doesn't budge.

Never mind found a write up, remove bolts, move seat alway back, sit in back seat and grab chair, start to rock, pop seat comes out easy.

Remember Ben, I found a beautiful mint set of recaro black leather sport lines for the front. Paid $1100.00 for pair. I have to have wedge engineering make me brackets, as the seats have NSX brackets not them. Ron, aka na1mt hooked me up with the seller. They are flawless. I just picked them ip today, after putting deposit on them 3 months ago.
I don't think I will have brackets for 2 weeks, so no picks installed.

Btw stock seats are freaking heavy! The recaros are 1/2 weight at least.

OK, I am very interested in this thread now as we all are aware that the current OEM seats are average for just putting about town, forget spirited canyon roads!
I remember that Headshot had Euro C5 RS6 Recaros from Japan? installed and he and his mech had a hell of a time with the side airbag and getting the code to clear...

Your plan?

recaro sport lines Ben.....no harness to attach, pure motorsport seats. Will i miss the heated seats, yes....can I adjust the seat myself-yes....I figure I should save about 50lbs + replacing the stock. these seats cost $1499 a piece, so my price was too good to pass up. The only set of recaro Eurospec's in the US are scotty at advance, and he wants $4k+ for the complete set. Mine are just fronts

I am going to send Ross tech an email today, as I now have an airbag light on dash, due to harness unplug. Hopefully I can code front seats out.

I remember hearing about harness terminators with resistors in them to trick ecu...

IIRC, Headshot had to do the same thing on his set...

Randy^^^ TYVM.....i have read that basically i can buy 4.7 ohm resistor from the shack, and bridge the connector which will resolve issue. There are 4 connectors under seat, 2 of which have multiple connections, 2 with only 2....i of those 2 is all black, power to seat motor.... so is the yellow connector with 2 plugs is the airbag harness?....

I was perusing ebay.de looking for seats and found these. It says they are for A4, S4, RS4, maybe they would fit your harness. The seller has a couple different connector types, maybe if you email him, something could be made.

What does the the front seats have to do with the airbags? Front seats have no air bag in them...or do they? I think your problem is the front seats belts. Did you connect the connector for the front seat belts? I have a complete set of EU recaros in my car and when I installed them I forgot one of the connectors under the front chairs ( I think it might have been the seat belt one) because I was too anxious to drive in them. Connected it, cleared code and everything is fine. Good luck!

Yes- The side air bag curtains are in the seat. You can see them on the side of the seat

I am reviving this thread because what do I do when my seat motor seems to be toast!? So I can't move the seat all the way back. The seat is in about a middle position right now.

You hear it click when you move a button and then nothing, like the control panel is sending signal to a dead motor. Does the motor have a separate fuse? Should I check that?
