A friend of mine says that the four-wheel drive on the RS6 takes so much hp off that his Jag S-Type R would any day beat it.
Pathetic... And Jaguar Racing in UK states that the Supercharged Audi is MUCH faster than the Bi-Turbo RS6 since Superchargers bring torque throughout the rev range. Any proffessional comments on this?

Jag S-type R:

0-60: 5.4
0-100: 13.6
1/4 mile: 13.8@103mph

RS6:

0-60: 4.4
0-100: 10.7
1/4 mile: 12.8@108mph

Your friend may be correct, if his car is not stock.

Not so proffessional. But no, It wont happen. The RS6 is plenty fast to beat the S-Type R ;)

I know there was a BIG fuss in the USA when Jag claimed to have 400 bhp when it's 400 hp they claim in EU...

I've never raced the Jag, but drove one & it feels about like my chipped S4 6-spd & figures bear that out. The quarter mile time posted above is close to my best in the S4 (13.775). My RS6 is about half a second faster in my experience so far (2 trips to Milan Dragway in SE Michigan; see my post under the "Real world numbers" thread)

FYI in separate incidents, two S-type drivers talking to me on the road said they enjoyed their car but envied me with the RS6. One said he got the Jag because he couldn't find an RS6 & didn't want to wait (in early September).

Yep,I think he's just jealous. There is nothing that could keep up with the RS6. Except my S3:alig: hahaha.... I've dyno'd over 400hp and just under 600Nm but I dont dare to dump the clutch...

Afraid that the +10,000eur tuning kit will blow up as smoke in the air.

I doubt anyway that my car will have anything on an RS6. At least not with my gear shifting skills. Do all gearboxes make that squeeking noise when you shift really fast and incorrect:cheers:

There have been at least 4 articles comparing the Jaguar and the RS6. The Jag has a low to mid 5s 0-60, vs. 4.6/4.7 for the Beast.

The worst for the RS6 I've seen is 5.3 and the worst for the Jag is 6.4 seconds.

But I wouldn't give the Jag any chance against the RS6

I can't even believe anyone would say the S-Type R is faster than an rs6. Like already mentioned, i have seen every test possible on the S-type R and the fastest I have never seen it tested under 5 sec. Every journalist complains that the geaarbox prematurely shifts so the car never realises its "claimed" 400hp. That car is the worst imo, as are most jags. If you want a numb, soulless, car outfitted with Ford Parts, Jaguar is your ticket. Besides, I am only 30, I know i have at least 40 more years until ii am ready for a Jag:D

I like Jags, I really do...
Most people think Jags are for old people,
but I don't know about that....I've seen my friends(20s) driving
Jags and it kinda looked good...
However, there is no way that the S type R is faster
than RS6.

The only Jag I've owned is an XJ6, 1972, new (lucky me), burgundy with tan leather, a great dashboard and view over the hood. Catlike, too, in its silence and sinewy movement. I was 27 at the time and never gave age a thought. Probably looked pretty good in it, though. I remember enjoying the Pennsylvania Turnpike on one trip.

One of the best cars I've owned, BTW, except for too much time in the shop.

Here's a c hallenge for you Jaguar fans, who do you know, famous if possible owns a Jaguar? Who do we know who owns an RS6?

My point? Well it's sort of if you can have anything you want and you know what's worthwhile, why have second best? Jaguar.

Exemptions are footballers, they get thiers for free and haven't got a clue anyway. Example, David Beckham drives a Ford F150 and a XKR. Enough said!
