TCU compatibility question

Can TCU's from other model C5's be interchanged with the RS6? I ask because, I'd like to send out a core TCU to Horchaus using a TCU from an A6 Avant and keep my current unit untouched.

Is this at all possible?

The part # is different for the RS6 but I don't know if the internals are the same and just a software difference since their are many Audi's that use a version of the HP24A ZF tranny, although different from our unit. It would seem if the circuitry is the same and only the software was different you might be able to use another if your changing the software already. Maybe MTM, Viper, or APR could answer that question since they do TCU software?

FWIW there have recently been a few auctions on ebay for the RS6 TCU. Have not looked in detail.

Only the US model RS6 TCU will work in the US RS6...Not even the Euro RS6 TCU will function in a US RS6, I've tried. I even tried to swap a US E-PROM into the Euro TCU, no go...
