Volt meter gauge

I've noticed my volt meter gauge heading north of 14 in the past few days.

Is the alternator going bad? What is a normal reading and what could be wrong?

Your battery is 12.6 Volts and most automotive alternators utilize voltage regulators and charge at 12.6 - 14.4 Volts so it would not be incorrect to see a volt meter above 14V.

Thank you! Maybe it has always read +14 on the gauge.
