My trunk won't open with the remote or the key.

You can hear the mechanism inside move but the normal thunk noise to open is not happening.

Has anyone had this happen? Any solutions are appreciated.

Rick

Happened to me too. Dealership replaced, worked for awhile, then went back to not working. Works every once in awhile with the remote.

Oh my- pull the lever that is located under the lip above the license plate (of course the it has to be unlocked).

Or crawl through the back seat and pull the glow-in-the-dark lever.

There is a release button on the pillar next to the driver's seat as well (I believe).

There is indeed. Same signal to the mechanism as from the remote. Mine popped out the other day, pissed me off.

did you lose it?
Mine did the same thing and the guys at the car wash just snapped it back in... otherwise it is a $35 item - ya can't just buy the switch cover...

Mine was missing years ago and I'd never used it. Audi replaced it under warranty and I have still not used it once.
