Hey guys, my name is Andrew & I'm a proud new owner of an 03 Audi RS6. Daytona Gray, SE exhaust, 66k miles. Bought locally w/ an aftermarket warranty & warranty on the transmission. Little history on the car - Had a tune for about a week before the transmission couldn't hang on any longer & blew. Transmission was replaced my a local Audi dealer w/ a 1 yr warranty for parts & labor - just shy of $10k for everything. As of owning it for a little under a month, I've replaced the battery & that's it. I'm extremely happy overall with the car. Very fast, a smooth ride and def gets looks. As of right now I'm planning on leaving the car stock, except for an iPod setup, a set of wheels & coilovers . IF I do decide to do any tuning, I'm wondering what other complimentary mods I should do & what tune is the most "reliable" - level 10 TC rebuild kit? Wagner IC's? Downpipes or just gut the pre-cats? I know search is my friend, and I'm going to be doing a lot of it for this car. Just wanted to introduce myself and my new ride.

Here's a test fitting of the wheels. 19x8.5 HRE 441's. The tires that are on there are 245/35-19 & with the stock suspension they look pretty odd to me. Want to go with a set of 255/35-19s for these. Coilovers the only solution for this stance? Not looking to go super low due to the angle of the decline of the entrance to my parking garage. Don't want any rubbing or scraping of anything. I just want the car to look, well, not so high. Haha Thoughts? Thanks

Welcome and thanks for the pics, car looks good! I've got the Stage 1 Revo tune, and updated TC to handle the load. In theory trans will be good if it's not hammered on. Yep, the wheels look a bit small, might be the silver lip too. I'm a fan of some of these, http://hartmannwheels.com/audi-wheels. Cheers!

Yellow license plate... Alaska?

Or should I go with a more obvious answer: Buffalo, NY? You picked a good winter car. I've had mine a week now, and had the opportunity to drive it around in the rain - quattro is amazing, is my conclusion. It's my first AWD car - always had RWD before... it's a great experience so far. Haven't managed to get the traction control light to even blink at me yet ... of course I'm not pushing all that hard, but nevertheless it's brilliant.

You're in for a lot of fun, BuffaloRS6. I'm only a week in, and I'm loving it more and more and more.

Haha yep, Buffalo, NY. For some reason the great state of NY decided to change to these ridiculously ugly license plates. I hate them. Never before had to think about what color car to get by thinking about whether or not it matches my license plate. Ugh. Although with the way this state is run, I can't say I'm surprised. I can't wait to get these HRE wheels on next spring with the proper suspension modifications to adjust it's stance. This is my 3rd Audi (93 Audi 90CSQ, B5 00' Audi S4 & now the RS6) & I have to say they're my favorite brand of car by a mile. The quattro is almost unstoppable in the snow if you have the proper tires. Here's an image of my current stable: Stock RS6 & VAST stage 3 00' Audi S4.

Can I re-use my current white NYS plates on a new car?
I don't care for the mustard colored ones.

Those look like the Bimoto MTM and/or Sportec Mono's 10 but at about 1/5 the price!

Buffalo, you are correct, there needs to be more meat on the tire, the 245's will do for a while until they are onion skins... might I suggest some Michelin Super Sports for the summer?!? :)

I'm definitely a fan of the forged wheels as you save a lot of weight (well over 10lbs per wheel) over the heavy stock cast wheels. 255/35-19 and 255/40-18" are the stock tires sizes. I know a lot of people that have had problems with the Hartmannwheels cracking & bending. Just check on Quattroworld, Audizine and do a search. Audi's are heavy cars due to the heavier metal than the Japanese stuff & AWD adds a few hundred more pounds so they are hard on the wheels & tires and the RS6 is no lightweight for an Audi.

Congrats..

I would be surprised if the HREs were much lighter if at all form stock, unless they were comp wheels, which I see they arent. Also, just a personal preference suggestion - that's an old style wheel (albeit probably period-correct :) ) and to me it kinda dates the car. If I were you, I would not roll with black center/polished lip, it doesnt really compliment the style of the car.. as mentioned makes it look too small. I would get them powder-coated all one color, black, charcoal, gray, gunmetal, something. Or go back to all silver/polished. It should really help out a lot. Just my $.03

@Brav - I'm seriously considering getting the wheels refinished in a brushed charcoal finish or a brushed silver finish over the course of this winter. Going to need some new HRE stickers for the center caps too. Obviously, from the pictures, I'm going to have to lower the car with the HRE's. Best coil over setup from what I've read are the KWV's.
