just did 1400 miles in the Silver Bullet for the holidays. Throughout the week, a brake light warning would intermittently come on, but the lights worked. I found it annoying until...it actually went out (right side).

interesting...is the car sensitive enough to sense a bulb that's *about* to die??

anyways, replacing the rear bulbs is easy, no? what's the bulb type for the brake bulb? I'm guessing it's not a double filament as I still have my regular rear light functional?

thanks for the link. interesting; it *is* a dual filament, and just one's toasted.

would be nice if the front bulbs could be changed just as easily....

That's the way it goes with filaments. If you take two bulbs and run one constantly and switch the other one on and off constantly, the switched one will burn out exponentially quicker.
