Hi

I've been wondering since I first saw this weird hanging sensor.

What's this ? Looks like parking sensor but it's not connected or attached to anything.

P/N 8F0 919 521A I suppose

The other 2 purple ones look like parking sensors for the front but in the US, they are not used/connected/available...
I seem to remember that there is an external temp sensor on the center left (US drivers side) that "senses" external air temp (quite incorrectly if may inject my opinion)...
Genuine doesn't have the part number
ETKA doesn't have it either

Edit: is it capped off?

exterior temperature sensor.

there's a holder for it just above the ducting for the oil/trans cooler.

Hmm, temp sensor... so it's this but on the other side and not installed in this fancy oil cooler housing :)

Temp sensor is on the drivers side wiring harness, it does look like a dummy parking sensor.

All my parking sensors are in place and they look different :)

My temp sensor has the part # 8z0520535 on it which wasn't found on Genuine but in ETKA I did find 4B0820535A for $36.89.
BTW, mine has always seemed to be quite accurate, maybe some of you need new sensors if it isn't accurate?

This is really weird... anyway maybe I'll just unplug it and see what's in the ECU afterwards :) I don't have the tem sensor on the driver where (where it supposed to be according to the manual)

mount temp sensor next to oil cooler = fail. I want to relocate it so bad.. next time the bumper comes off..
