View Full Version : Rear Differential Chatter

Hello All,

Just posting a quick question re: Rear Differential.

I have had a chatter on hard turning to right for about 6 months. At first it was only on really hard starts turning right, now it's become more consistent even with straight runs.

I had the rear differential 'serviced' and the clutch packs were reported as 'ok'.

I discussed it again with another mechanic who mentioned "the Springs" in the rear diff could be the problem.

Any thoughts?

My mechanic thought it was due to my lowering the car with the KW's but I really doubt that is the issue.

I am trying to avoid catastrophic failure.

Thanks,

Mike

Is this a slow turn, like driveway or turning onto another street at a 90 degree? I get this both directions, been the same for months, mech said it was center diff up by the trans, not to worry about it...

Just to clarify, mine is slight to medium steering wheel vibration...only on slow turns, perfect on the straights and corners at speed!
